Seeing the “other” – Seeing yourself
Since 20 years FAB continues to create spaces for deep personal encounters between Palestinians, Israelis and Germans, to explore the interwoven historical narratives and present day triangle between the three national groups and the impact it has on our current day to day experience.
SAVE THE DATE: 01. – 09. August 2026
Nation and Discrimination
Together with Sapir College and WannseeFORUM, FAB is once again organizing a German-Israeli exchange on the topic of “Nation and Discrimination.” The seminar is aimed at people from Israel, Palestinians with Israeli citizenship, and young people from Germany with and without a history of migration or flight, aged up to 26 (exceptions can be made upon consultation). Our central theme is the diversity of the living environments of young people from both countries. Together, we will explore our own and our national identities, how they are connected, and how discrimination manifests itself in today’s Israel and Germany.

A Film about the encounter in FAB in 2024 by Gerburg Rohde-Dahl
Palestinians, Israelis and Germans met during a 9-day seminar in Germany, four months after October 7, 2023 and during the ongoing war and destruction of Gaza and in the West Bank. The film gives insight into the difficult and challenging process of a dialogue between “enemies”. Through listening and empathy, personal suffering became tangible in the suffering of the “other” and the potential for dialogue became clearer. This experience opened people’s eyes to the possibility of overcoming the spiral of violence and counter-violence and looking for alternative forms of coexistence based on mutual recognition.
